This brave calf escaped from a New York City slaughterhouse on Thursday and went joy walking through the streets of Jamaica, Queens. Traffic and pedestrians had to move around him and people gathered in awe of the cow wandering the streets.
But can you blame him? He’s trying to save his own life…
The cow eventually ended up in a local parking garage where NYPD captured him. This was the same police department that saved a goal earlier just a few days ago. Unfortunately they had to return the cow back to the slaughterhouse he escaped from. So despite this cow’s effort in escaping, he would be faced with the same fate as the rest of the calves the following day.
But suddenly, amazing rescuers from Skylands Animal Sanctuary and Rescue stepped in to save him!
They named the cow Freddie and after working hard with the people at the slaughterhouse to come to an arrangement, their hard work paid off! Rescuers were able to negotiate with them to allow Freddie to be taken to their sanctuary to get medical treatment and live a happy life! He’ll now be in a good company with other furry animals and he will never worry again about facing the ugly slaughterhouse!
