Eclipse, Seattle's celebrity dog, enjoys taking the bus to the park on her own...
“All the bus drivers know her. She sits here just like a person does,” rider Tiona Rainwater explained.
“She makes everybody happy. How could you not love this face?”
How did this all start?
One day black Labrador and Mastiff Mix, Eclipse, was waiting at the bus stop with her owner, Jeff Young. Jeff was finishing up his cigarette when the bus arrived, and Eclipse simply could not wait to get to the park!
She boarded the bus on her own and went to the park. Ever since that day, her owner knows she is capable of bringing herself to the park if he is taking too long. She knows exactly where to get off!
Now she has a bus pass right on her collar.
King County allows dogs to be on public transportation as long as the driver is comfortable with it.
Though some officers would like to see Eclipse on a leash, everyone knows she means no harm.
The dog brings joy to passengers and drivers alike.
As for Eclipse?
She is proud of her accomplishments and now is so famous, she has her own Facebook page!
It says on her profile:
“I love my big city life and enjoy taking the D line daily to the Belltown dog park.” She is one smart pup!
