Lana is an eight-month-old puppy with a big heart.
Lana is a rescue dog currently living in Brazil. Late last year, she was rescued from the streets along with her siblings. Suelen Schaumloeffel and her fiance quickly adopted Lana after the rescue. From the start, Lana was a loving pet thankful for the affection she received.
But Lana also remembered the hardship of being without love.
As the weather grew chilly in the area, Schaumloeffel gave Lana a thick blanket for her doghouse. Rather than using the blanket just for herself, Lana had a better idea.
On Tuesday morning, Schaumloeffel’s fiance was on his way to work. He noticed something beautiful – Lana was sharing her blanket with a dog living on the streets.
The other dog had come by the house the day before, but Schaumloeffel couldn’t get close enough to check for an ID. She wanted to see if the dog was truly without a home. Regardless of the dog’s situation, Lana made friends with the dog and did what she could to help.
“I thought, ‘How beautiful what she did for her friend,'” Schaumloeffel told The Dodo. “My best four-legged friend reminded me of something so important: generosity!”
Until Schaumloeffel and her fiance are able to check the dog for tags and see if he has a home, they are leaving food and water out. Helping dogs in need is a goal of Lana’s, and her family wants to help her fulfill that goal.
“She is the nicest little dog I’ve ever met,” Schaumloeffel said. “We forget sometimes the difference we can make in someone’s life. She reminded me of this.”
