Tyler Wilson was getting gas when he came across a dog wandering around the station.
Being as this was not the first time Wilson had seen the yellow lab alone, he became concerned. What if the dog was lost?
“I've seen the dog a couple weeks before around that area,” Wilson told the Dodo. “So when he came up to me at the gas station and sat next to me, I was like, 'This dog has been lost for awhile'”.
When Wilson checked the dog's collar for a tag he came across something interesting. The ID tag stated:“My name is Dew. I am not lost. I like to roam. Tell me to go home.”
Wilson was relieved the dog was okay. Instead of telling Dew to go home right away, Wilson bonded with him.
“I pet him and even hugged him,” Wilson said. “He got me a little wet from the rain, but it was worth it.”
Dew is well known in the area for his wandering. He meets new people all the time and enjoys his daily adventures. When he finishes his daily journeys, he returns to his home with his family on a 70-acre farm.
“Dew loves to make new friends,” Dew's family told the Dodo. The good news is that the family equipped Dew with a GPS tracker. No matter where he roams, Dew is accounted for and won't get lost.
Though Dew's adventures are a little dangerous and quite unusual, the pleasure he finds and brings through his meetings with new people makes it all worthwhile.
